Summer vacations are always the best. I love the time spent with just the five of us with no distractions! Don't get me wrong it is not always perfect, but it's our perfect. This summer we went to Maine. My godfather and his family have a house up in Maine that we stayed at. It was right near a lake and it was in a cute town. We went up on a Wednesday night. We were suppose to leave early Thursday morning, but was already to go which never happens so we decided to leave early. The drive was about five hours but it went by fast! It was nice to wake up and already be on vacation the next day. On Day One we woke up to no groceries so we had to go out but we first grabbed breakfast at a general store. Egg sandwiches for Brett and I and the kiddos had muffins. The rest of the first day we spent walking in the town and eating dinner out followed up with ice cream. The next day we hiked up a waterfall and then went for a drive to see what was around! We enjoyed a dinner at home followed with a fire and of course had to make smores! The rest of the weekend was spent swimming in the lake, having dinner out, bowling, finding playgrounds and we even took naps! Hudson fell asleep on me one afternoon and I realized he isn't a baby anymore!! It was a great weekend away with my people. Looking forward to next summers adventure already. xoxo, Erika

This and That!
I don't even know where to begin! I know I say every year I'm going to blog more and then nothing happens! I'm really going to take the effort this year to make this blog a better place. I want the memories! Life has been busy! With the holidays over I feel like we can breath a little better. It was a different Holiday season, but it was still a fun one!
Now that we are into the New Year and all the holiday decorations are down, I feel a sense of calm in our house! I love all the decorations but there is something about taking them down and having the house back to normal. I love the beginning of the New Year. It such a wonderful time when everything seems to reset! I get so excited for what the year will bring. Hopefully it will be a better year! I know everybody usually sets New Year Resolutions but this year I have decided to do goals instead of Resolutions. I will post my goals here soon and hopefully by posting them it will keep me accountable! Do you do New Years Resolutions or goals?
Ok, so I'm going to leave you with some pictures of what we have been up to in January! I hope you all have a great day! xoxo Erika

Thanksgiving Weekend
I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving! It was definitely different than the years past but it was still very special. I love Thanksgiving because there isn't any pressure! It is a perfect day to spend with family! Brett was working this year. The life of a cop's wife! I'm use to it! He was able to stop by for dinner which was nice! We went to my parents for the day and just hung out with everyone. Later that day our bubble family came over for desserts! We ate too much turkey and all the fixings! I always make the corn bread casserole and the green bean casserole. The green bean casserole is my favorite!! Wouldn't be a Thanksgiving with out it!
For the rest of the weekend it was pretty low key! Friday was a lazy day! We watched movies and played board games! Saturday was spent grocery shopping. I went to my cousin's house to make wreaths and we had a fire and bring your own dinner at my parents house! It was pretty warm out so we have to take advantage of being outside! On Sunday our elves arrived and yes we have two now! Bob and Peppermint came in hanging on the chandelier! We had a breakfast to welcome them! After breakfast we went for a walk to my parents house. Brett helped my dad put up the lights on the back part of the house. My mom gave my dad a birthday present of letting him put up outdoor lights! He was so excited. It is supposedly a one year thing. We shall see! Sunday night we went to my sisters to celebrate my dad birthday with a yummy dinner. It was a fun weekend! We have so much to be grateful for this year even when the world is a bit crazy! I hope you all had a nice weekend!
