Over Memorial Day we had my Mom's 50th Surprise Birthday Party! It was a wonderful night. The best part was that she didn't expect it and she cleaned and got everything ready for her own party! My parents had planned on having their monthly swim parents dinner and my dad decided that he would make it into my mom's surprise party! Very smart on my dad's end. The fun part was the people that were there. Leslie (my godmother and my mom's best friend) was there along with my mom's high school friends. Also my Uncle Johnny was attending a convention in Boston and came for the party. I couldn't believe that we pulled it off and that no one spilled the beans! It was a very hard week leading up to it and I think everyone was on edge worried to let the beans out of the bag.
We ran around like crazy on Saturday trying to make sure that we had everything that we needed. I had made cupcakes and cake pops. The cake pops were so good that I can't wait to make more!
My parents dinner party was to start at 6:30 so everyone who was invited to that showed up and then everyone else that was going to surprise her met at the town hall. Once we were all there we started our walk to my parents house and up the drive way to surprise the Birthday Girl! Brett had video taped it. I just have to figure out how to get it on the computer. We all started singing happy birthday and was my mom surprised. The first thing out of her mouth was that she had cleaned for her own party!
Here are some pictures from the night. It was a perfect night for a perfect mom who we love and are so thankful for!!
Happy Birthday Mom!
