Blizzard Warning!

We are having a Blizzard Warning up until tomorrow around noon. We are suppose to get about 2 feet of snow. So my plan is to get everything done this morning so that I can enjoy the weather! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Welcome to Winter!!

Oh my goodness it is cold out tonight! My dad and I went for a walk with Maggie dog and it was so cold, I'm thinking that we are going to have to get a doggie sweater for Maggie. Even though it was cold it was a good walk!!

I can't believe that Christmas is a week away. I'm not ready at all. I'm just having a hard time trying to figure out what to get people! So I hope to finish my shopping this weekend. Its going to be a busy weekend! Carly Barly comes home for winter break and we are celebrating her 21st on Saturday night with a holiday party. Its all suppose to snow on Saturday night into Sunday!

I was hoping to upload my pictures but I can't find my camera cord...I wonder where it could be?

Tis the Season

Trying to get into the season so I have updated my blogs background! Had to leave a little monkey to it though!!

Once again it has been a long time. Why do I go such long periods with out blogging? I can't believe that it is already December. Where did this year go? This is suppose to be my favorite time of the year. I have always had a countdown, but this year is it a little different. I'm trying to get into the spirit of it all because I know deep down in my heart Connor would want that.

It has been a busy couple of weeks. Brett has been going non stop and finally has a day off today! It is snowing - time to get the chains out for the tires!! I don't think the snow is going to amount to anything but still it looks very pretty! We got our tree this weekend and it is a real one! It looks good, just need a topper for it. I also decorated the house which is nice. Last night was my work's holiday party which was very nice! Didn't win a TV this year though! It was nice to be able to enjoy the party and not stress out on everything!!

The next couple of weeks are going to be busy as they are for everyone else. This weekend is Carly's 21st birthday and we are going to go up to Keene and visit her for the day! Hopefully it isn't too cold up there.

I have tons of pictures I need to post so I will do that tonight. Need to get the cable cord from my parents and I don't feel like walking across the driveway to get it! I love how close we are to them.

Carly Comes Home!

It's finally Friday! This week seemed to be a long week with a day off during the middle of it all. Carly comes home today for the weekend and I can't wait to see her.

Last night was a good night. Had dinner with my mom and then I had my support group. I love my group, wish it was more than one a month. Can't wait for next month!

I started my new medicine for my thyroid last Saturday. Hopefully this dosage will be the perfect dosage. Things are starting to come together with all this medical stuff. It seems like we have a plan, just waiting to hear back from my doctor to see what my blood results indicated in regards to the anti cardio lipon antibody they think I have when I'm pregnant. My new doctor doesn't think I have it and that it showed up as a false positive. So I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping that is the case. Will update as soon as I hear!!!!

Everything else is going well this week. Brett has been very busy with work and EMT Class! I'm so grateful for everything he has done for us! Mom and Mitchell were in Florida this weekend looking at colleges. Hopefully Mitchell will be able to pick a college!

It's been too long!

Ok, so its been too long since the last time I wrote! I hate that I go in spurts, wish that I could keep up with this on a daily/weekly basis!



Everything in Massachusetts is going well. Both Brett and I are adjusting to being up here. I think I'm adjusting more than my southern guy is!!! Hopefully Brett will be ok during the winter!! I hear its suppose to snow tomorrow......time to get the chains out for the tires!!



October was both a busy and hard month for us. We had Connors six month anniversary, never thought we would get through the first six months, but we did and if we can get through those months then I think that we can get through the next six months. We had a memorial gathering the week of Connor's angel anniversary. It was a horrible day weather wise, but it was beautiful. I'm thankful for all that came to it!!

I can't believe that the holidays are just around the corner! I hope that I can get in to the Christmas Spirit this year.

Friday!

I'm so excited that it is Friday and that I'm not working till 6:30 like most Fridays. I have training today so most likely I will be out around 4. Also Brett will be home tonight! Don't get too many nights together so I love it when it happens!

I'm looking forward to this weekend. Saturday we are getting up bright and early and heading up to Keene NH to see Carly Barly (my sister) for Pumpkin Fest. We will stay over tomorrow night and then Sunday head home for my Support Group's Memorial Gathering. I'm so lucky that I have found this support group and for all the people I have met in it!

I will update on Sunday with tons of pictures!! Have a great weekend!

Missing Baby Connor! I can't believe that it has been six months....life isn't fair!!!!

It has been too long!!

I can't believe that I haven't posted on my blog for over a month. I guess a lot hasn't happened, but I feel like that is the opposite. Everything is going well up in Mass! We are moving out of the parents house this weekend into our apartment. Almost done painting. I will post pictures up after we are all moved in!!!

I'm sorry I haven't posted in a month! I won't let that happen again!! Looking forward to the next couple of weeks and hopefully our move will go smoothly.

Sunset Cruise!

Last night was a perfect night to end a good weekend. We went out on family friend's boat and watched the sunset and had some yummy appetizers and cookies!!! It's back to work today, but not until 11:15. This morning is going to be filled with cleaning and organizing!! I need to make lists, which is my favorite thing to do!

Labor Day Weekend!

I love Labor Day Weekend!! It's sad knowing that summer is over but I love the fall season and I'm so looking forward to it!! My dad put on a concert last night through the police association and the GQs and the Lady was the band. We had a lot of fun and there was a good crowd! Afterward we went to Turks for some sushi and edamame!!! It was a good night. Today is been filled with work. I worked this morning till 12:30 and then I'm working tonight at Turk's. I'm looking forward to tomorrow and having Monday off too!!!

Back to School!

Back to school for Baby Mitchell tomorrow. Well actually he isn't a baby anymore! I can't believe that he will be a senior this year! Time flies. I will post pictures tomorrow from the first day!!

On another note, one year ago today was when I found out that I was pregnant with Connor. Has it really been a year? I wish he was here with us! My goal this weekend is to get plants for the cemetery. I don't like how he doesn't have anything. I just need to figure out what will go well up there and plant them with Brett's help of course!

Ok off to bed. I have had a really bad headache all day. Didn't even go to yoga tonight! Will try it out on Thursday. Need to get up early tomorrow to switch our license plates to Massachusetts! After tomorrow we will officially be MA residents!!!!

Another Fun Weekend!

I love weekends! Who doesn't!!!! We had a good weekend. Weather wasn't suppose to be nice but it turned out to be a beautiful weekend! Friday night I picked up a shift at the restaurant that I use to work at. Saturday morning was spent running errands and then at the beach in the afternoon. Saturday night we went to my Godfather's house for dinner. Everything was so good! I made homemade chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches. They were wonderful!! Today my good friend Andrea from college came to visit! We went to my uncles pool where it was beautiful. We had a blast!!! Tonight was just Mitchell, Brett and I for dinner, so I made grilled chicken and corn on the cob. We then went for a nice bike ride around town.

I love Sundays! I start working tomorrow, well actually its just orientation but I'm looking forward to it but have anxiety about it too. Ok so this is a quick post since I have to finish filling out paperwork and then find something to wear. I went shopping this past week because all my work clothes were maternity and I haven't lost all the weight yet so I can wear pre pregnancy clothes. It sucks!!!!!!!! But love getting new clothes!!

Back to Reality!

Back to reality on Monday. I got a full time job working at my old job before I moved to Georgia. I'm looking forward to it. Just wish that I could have waited a couple more weeks or maybe a couple of years!!!! Someday I will be able to be the stay at home mom I have always wanted to be.. I just wish it was now with Connor.

I love being in Mattapoisett and I hope Brett loves it too. I feel that this move has been great therapy for me. I don't always have the time that I had in Georgia to think about things. Here I'm busy and there is always people around to keep me occupied. My mind still races of what ifs, what if Connor was here, what would I be doing. Would we even be here? I hate that all of his stuff is in storage except for one bin that I keep with me. I miss seeing his crib all set up. I hope someday it will be put to good use. I know Connor would like that. I miss him so much and my heart just feels so heavy at times. I miss going to my support group. We found one up here but missed the August Meeting so we will have to wait for September.

We celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary this past Sunday. We had to drive my sister back to school with my parents in the morning, but then Brett and I came home so that we could go out to dinner. We had a very nice dinner at Not Your Average Joe's. This weekend we are going to go to Newport to celebrate. We were going to go back to Martha's Vineyard where we had our honeymoon but thought we should go somewhere different. As much as I enjoyed our 1st anniversary something was missing, actually someone was missing, our Baby Connor. He was suppose to be here. Our wedding night is actually the night we conceived Connor. Brett thinks it was our honeymoon, but I know deep down in my heart that it was that night. I can't believe that it has been a year since then. Time flies.

Ok so I have been rambling and I'm all over the place. Time to make dinner! Have a good night!

Summers in Mattapoisett are the best!!!

There is nothing like a sunny day and knowing that you will be going to the beach! That is the one thing I didn't like about Georgia, is that you had to drive 5 hours to get to a beach. Here in Mattapoisett it is only a walk across the street from the house.

It's a busy weekend! I worked last night at a local restaurant that I worked at before I moved to Georgia. Luckily I got right back into the swing of things, but my legs are hurting today!!! Today is a beach day, but running errands this morning. Just have to wait for my Papa to get back from his bike ride and I'm off!!! Carly (my sister) leaves tomorrow to go back to school and we are having a party for her tonight. I'm making the dessert, haven't figured it out yet but I'm thinking some type of cobbler. I hope it comes out ok because I have never made a cobbler before! Wish me luck!

Tomorrow is our one year anniversary. Can you believe it? I can't! It feels like this year has been a blur, oh wait it has!!! Yesterday was Connor's 4 month Angel Anniversary and every month gets better, but it still sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy that people recognize it. It means so much to me! He was is our baby boy and he will always be here with us!! I really need to get flowers for him this weekend and plant them, but for some reason I'm having a hard time with that. Ahhhhh!!

I'm sorry I'm rambling, but I have one more thing to write about! My best friend had her baby two weeks ago and I'm so excited for her. He is so cute. I thought it was going to be really hard to see him, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I have actually seen him twice. I just wish that Connor was here because they would have been best buddies just like me and my friend!!! And I just want to thank my friend for being so understanding about the whole situation. She has made it so much better than she will ever know!

Finally!

I finally have time to write in my blog. I have also just figured out how to get my pictures from my camera on to the computer.

It has been a crazy couple of weeks. We have been in Mattapoisett for almost 2 weeks now. Brett started working today and I have been helping out at my Mom's office. We are starting to get into a routine which is good! I'm so glad that Brett started working today, he was starting to get bored being at home all day by himself.

Here are some pictures from our move from Georgia to Mattapoisett. It was a stressful and hot time. The movers never showed up, so my Dad and Brett had to do everything and then once they were done we started the 16 hour drive which turned into 26 hours because of the truck and that we couldn't go any faster than 60-65. That doesn't seem bad, but it was! I think it took us at least a couple of days to recoup from the trip and haven't looked back!!

Last Night in Georgia

This will be the last time I write in my blog while in Georgia. I'm so excited that we are leaving tomorrow. The movers arrive at 10:00 am and hopefully we will be out of here around 12:00 and on the road. We should arrive in Mattapoisett around 10:00 am on Friday. So I'm off to bed so that we can get up early and finish the packing!! I hope that our cat and dog will do well on the ride!

Exciting News!

I'm so excited that I can finally say this!!! Brett and I are moving to Massachusetts. We both gave our two week notice last Thursday and will be leaving Georgia next Friday, July 31. There is so much to do and I feel like there is very little time to do it, but it will all get done. I just wish that these next two weeks go by very fast. I can't wait to be up in Mattapoisett again where we will be with Connor, family, and friends.

Life is good!!!

I have been really bad with keeping up with my blog!! It has been awhile since the last time I wrote, so I hope that this isn't too long.

I hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend. Ours was very relaxing. I had Friday off and spent the day doing errands and getting my haircut, which was getting too long for me!! Friday night we went into Virginia Highlands and had dinner with family! It was very yummy! Saturday was spent at the pool until Brett was ready to come home. We then packed up and went to Chateau Elan to see the local fireworks. Sunday was a relaxing day. We didn't do anything!!!!

I'm looking forward to the next two months. We are going to Destin Florida at the beginning of August and then we are headed to Mattapoisett for a week with my family! I'm so excited.

So I have a doctors appointment next week with our perinatal doctor to go over my lab results that I got back a week ago. The results showed that I have a MTHFR mutation (I will learn more about this next week, but I think it has to do with blood thinning), which this could have been a cause of what had happen with Connor. It is so frustrating that we couldn't have figured this out before, but with no history it wasn't something that the doctors would have looked for! We can't go back, but we can go forward and hopefully we will get some answers next week to what future pregnancies will be. I'll keep you updated!

On another note, I need to lose weight. I have lost half of what I gained with Connor but still have a lot more to go, so I got an early birthday present on Monday and it was a Wii Fit. I absolutely love it! I finally found something that I enjoy and I break a sweat. I guess we will see how it goes.

I think I have rambled a little to much, time to go relax with the hubby.

Hump Day!

It's half way through the week!!! I can't believe how hot it has become down here, especially in our apartment. It is 80 and it won't get any cooler. I think that we have a problem with AC. What do you think?

The beginning of this week has been a hard week. Sunday was Baby Connor's 2 month anniversary, which was a hard day but I got through it. It is so good to have Brett around more!! It has really helped me to heal and not be alone at night, especially when that is the hardest time of the day. On Monday I had a migraine. I hate them. They knock you out for a day or so. I'm feeling better today, but it's very scary and it is all because of stress, wish I didn't have stress in my life. I was doing so well. I hate having set backs because they make my mind go crazy! I have learned that I'm having a normal reaction to an abnormal situation. I'm hoping that the rest of the week is better than the beginning.

Two Months Ago

I can't believe that it has been two months since we lost Connor. This wasn't suppose to happen. We should be in Mattapoisett showing off our baby boy but instead I'm sitting here working on a scrapbook for my baby who will never get to see it. Life isn't fair.

So the goal for today is to stay busy to keep my mind off of things until Brett gets home!!!!

I love you Connor!!!!

Thank goodness it is the weekend! I absolutely love the weekends, who doesn't? Brett has to work both days! Yes I said days! I'm so excited that he has switched from nights, it has been really nice to have him home!

This week has been a very long week. On Monday I had a doctor's appointment to get lots of blood drawn for more testing. They took 16 tubes of blood from me, but I was a really good girl and sat there the whole time, not looking but dealing with it! I don't like anything to do with needles, but after everything that I have gone through it is the least of my worries now. After we were done with the doctor's office we headed to Ted's Montana for an early dinner. We actually had our first date there! It was good! We also had our support group. I have met some amazing people who have made feel that everything I'm going through is normal and that I'm not going crazy, because I do think that is true! Thank you!!!

Now we just have to wait for the results from the blood work to come back! They said that it would take a week and half. So hopefully we will know something by the end of this week and we will be able to go from there!

I really need to get my day started! I wish the sun would come out. I'm going to go get my to do's done so that I'm ready when the sun does come out I'm ready to hit the pool!

I miss you Baby Connor! Not a moment goes by that I don't think of you. I wish you where here with us! I love you always and forever!!!!

Last Sunday I was having dinner out on the porch and I looked up and there was this rainbow. It was beautiful and it was like Connor was giving me a sign that he was with me.

The Sun Finally Came Out!

I can't believe that the weekend is almost over. My mom was here this weekend and it was a fun time. Friday night we stayed in and Brett made a really good dinner - steak tips, mashed potatoes, and green beans!!! On Saturday Brett worked a part time and my mom and I went and did errands and then spent the day at the pool. Saturday evening we headed into Virginia Highlands and walked around and had dinner at Food 101. We had a great dinner except for Brett, who had gravy on his fried chicken. He doesn't like gravy!!!!!!! After dinner we drove around and ended up in Suwanee and got some ice cream. We also drove around Lake Lanier. We were hoping to go to the beach on Sunday but it is so expensive! The camping sites were really nice! Maybe I can get Brett to go camping with me. How much fun would that be?

Sunday was another day spent at the pool. We had late lunch at Cheeseburger Bobby's. Needed to check that off our list of places to try. It was very good! After lunch we took my mom to the airport. Hopefully she didn't have to wait to long and didn't go over on her baggage in weight!!

It was such a great weekend and I hate for it to end. Off to hang out with Brett and get ready for the week.

Happy Memorial Day!

What a gloomy day. I'm so sick and tired of this rain and the weather channel just said it suppose to rain all week, where is the sun? So much for going to the pool today. I just hope that the rain will stop and the sun will be out for next weekend while my mom is here.

The stone for Baby Connor was put in this week and it looks beautiful. Now I just need to figure out what type of flower should go there. It needs to be some flower that will be OK with getting lots of sun. Any ideas? I'm not good with flowers/gardens. I'm learning.

Time to go wake up Brett! He has to work today so I've let him sleep in a bit but that time is over!! I hope everyone has a Happy Memorial Day!!!

Lazy Sunday!

It has been a very nice weekend, a long weekend! I keep forgetting that I have tomorrow off. Carly left today. I drove her to the airport and she is on the plane as I write this. I hope she has a safe flight. It was so nice to have her here for the whole week while Brett was working. We had fun even if I was a party pooper at night and went to bed early. It was good to have my mind off of things. Losing your baby is one of the hardest things anyone has to go through and I never imagined that this would happen to us, but it did and we are dealing with it day by day.

I'm starting to finally feel like things are getting better, the anxiety that I have had is getting better and I know that I have not done anything wrong. Now I'm just trying to find things to keep me busy now! I'm really excited because Brett might be going to days which would be so nice to have him around at night. We could have a normal life. It has been three years since he went to nights, so I didn't have much time to get use to him being around at nights. Just keep your fingers crossed that the switch goes through!

My mom comes this weekend. I'm so looking forward to her visit! Hopefully it will be a nice weekend and not like this weekend. I need the sun!!!!

I'm so happy that this week is over. It seemed like it was never going to end. I started back at work on Monday and its been good to keep my mind busy. We started our support group on Monday night. It felt good to be able to talk to people who were dealing with a loss of a child too. I think that Brett enjoyed it too. I just wish that the group met more than just once a month.

Well since Brett is working this weekend I'm going to go visit Carly in SC for the day on Saturday and start on my spring cleaning. Need to get organized. I have a huge list of to do's that I think will keep me busy for a while! I'm hoping that this will be a good weekend.

We miss you Baby Connor!!!!

I'm new to the world of blogging and I'm not a good writer, but I thought it would be a good way to let people know what is happening in our lives.

Today will be a month since we said goodbye to our little monkey. Baby Connor was still born at 36 weeks and 2 days on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 9:35 am. He weighed 4 lbs and 11 oz. and was 18 inches long. He was so precious. He had my nose and Brett's lips and he had the Lowney pinky toe. He definetly had Brett's feet and some might say he had mine since I have big feet too. I still can't believe that this has all happened. I'm just waiting to wake up from this nightmare. I had such a perfect pregnancy that this never once crossed my mind that this could happen to us.

On Monday, April 13, 2009 I went in for my 36 week appointment. Those appointments were so silly at the time. I was always in and out in 15 minutes and didn't think that Brett should have to come to them since he would have to take time away from work and everything was going well. My life came shattering down at that appointment when they couldn't find the heartbeat with the Doppler and two ultrasounds and it was just me with the doctors. The doctor didn't waste any time and called Brett who was on his way to work. For an hour I sat in the doctor's office waiting for Brett and my Aunts. We were admitted into the hospital and at 5:00 pm they started with the induction. Mom and Carly were on the next flight out and didn't get into Atlanta until about 11:00 and my Dad and Mitchell arrive the next day at 2:00 pm. Brett's Mom and Sister arrived Monday night too!! We were so lucky to have the love and support of our family as we went through this. We were able to spend time with Connor and our family. I will forever treasure those moments that we got to spend with our baby.

We spent the next two weeks with my family. On May 2, 2009 we had a memorial service in Mattapoisett, MA where I grew up. It was absolutely beautiful and we are so grateful for all the love and support that we had there that day. Baby Connor is in a safe place with our Grandparents!! We look forward to the day were we will all be together again! We Love You and Miss you!!!
