Thanksgiving Weekend

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving! It was definitely different than the years past but it was still very special. I love Thanksgiving because there isn't any pressure! It is a perfect day to spend with family! Brett was working this year. The life of a cop's wife! I'm use to it! He was able to stop by for dinner which was nice! We went to my parents for the day and just hung out with everyone. Later that day our bubble family came over for desserts! We ate too much turkey and all the fixings! I always make the corn bread casserole and the green bean casserole. The green bean casserole is my favorite!! Wouldn't be a Thanksgiving with out it!

For the rest of the weekend it was pretty low key! Friday was a lazy day! We watched movies and played board games! Saturday was spent grocery shopping. I went to my cousin's house to make wreaths and we had a fire and bring your own dinner at my parents house! It was pretty warm out so we have to take advantage of being outside! On Sunday our elves arrived and yes we have two now! Bob and Peppermint came in hanging on the chandelier! We had a breakfast to welcome them! After breakfast we went for a walk to my parents house. Brett helped my dad put up the lights on the back part of the house. My mom gave my dad a birthday present of letting him put up outdoor lights! He was so excited. It is supposedly a one year thing. We shall see! Sunday night we went to my sisters to celebrate my dad birthday with a yummy dinner. It was a fun weekend! We have so much to be grateful for this year even when the world is a bit crazy! I hope you all had a nice weekend!

Mollie's 10th Birthday

How is Mollie already 10 years old?? Mollie had a great birthday. She started her day with breakfast and presents from us. Her birthday breakfast request was pancakes with sprinkles and bacon. Mollie's birthday was on a Friday so she ended up having to go to school. After school we picked Mollie and Harper up and went to get smoothies! After smoothies, it was time to party. With COVID it was a bit difficult to plan a party. We celebrated with family and she had a few friends over for a movie night at my parents house! My parents got a video screen and my sister brought over her projector. We made up a few baskets with goodies for the movies! Each kid got their own pizza and they watched Trolls World Tour and then the Adamms Family Movie. I made cute cupcakes. Mollie's theme was Ocean. I made the cupcakes to look like a ocean with sand by using crushed graham crackers. I added teddy bear graham cookies with lifesaver gummies around them to look like a float around them. They were really cute! The night turned out to be a perfect night weatherwise. I think everyone had fun. I know Mollie did, she was sad to see her birthday go. Luckily for her she had a long weekend to enjoy, so we made it her birthday weekend! Happy Birthday Mollie. We love you! xoxo

What We Did This Weekend

How was everyone's weekend? We had a nice one! Brett was working all weekend so it was just me solo with the kiddos.

On Friday, Hudson and I kicked the weekend off with going to Target and Hudson found his muffin truck. He was so excited. Hudson loves his muffins in the morning. I know they aren't the best for you.  While at Target I had to get a few things for Mollie's Birthday which is coming up on Friday. After Target we picked up the girls from school and stopped by my parents for a bit. We came home and cleaned out all the backpacks and had a quite night. I made meatballs and pasta for dinner, we got to face time with my cousin and her new baby, and then we enjoyed movie night. We watched Kicking and Screaming with Will Ferrell. It was cute! I think we were all in bed by 8:30. Everyone was exhausted. These school days are kicking our butts!

On Saturday I was up so early. I think it was around 4:30. I fell asleep early the night before that I just couldn't sleep anymore. I watched a few episodes of Housewives OC and enjoyed a cup of coffee. One by one the kiddos starting waking up around 7 and I got up and got ready for the day. We had pancakes and the girls add some sprinkles and whipped cream.  After breakfast the kiddos got ready and we had a few errands to run but first we stopped at the beach. It was such a beautiful day. Mollie was amazed at how clear the water was and wished she could have gone swimming! After walking on the beach the kiddos played on the playground for a few. It was actually their first time on playground since March. They were happy.

After the beach we went and ran our errands. Once we got home it was time for some lunch and quite time. Once we had enough of quite time we went outside to play and did some painting. The painting didn't last long and it was time to make dinner. I made dinner to go because we were going to my parents for dinner. Since May we have been doing bring your own dinner to my parents and having a fire with family. The kiddos love it and enjoy making smores!. We got home pretty late that night and all crashed.

Sunday was pretty uneventful. I didn't take any pictures, but we had cinnamon buns and bacon for breakfast and then went for a walk. The kiddos probably had too much screen time but I was able to switch out my summer clothes for my fall/winter clothes! Which feels nice to do. I started doing the kiddos but will have to finish that up this week. Brett got home around 4. We both didn't feel like cooking. I'm so over cooking dinner every night. We got yummy take out and enjoyed a nice family night!

I hope you all had a great weekend!

Life Lately

How is it already October?  I thought I would do a Life Lately update since it has been a while from my last post! We are in our third full week of being back to school. Life has been a bit of a juggling act with school and work for both Brett and I, but we are doing well! The girls are doing a great job at the hybrid learning. We all have our moments but that is expected! We have enjoyed the warmer days by celebrating the first week of school with ice cream, lots of walks and bike rides, Mollie went back to dance and is enjoying it. She even got to wear her costumes from the spring and we were able to go see her perform her dances! Hudson had his first day at Project Grow and I enjoy the one on one time I get with him in car drop off line! Harper is doing so well with School too! She loves reading and being on her Zoom calls. I'm so looking forward to this month. Mollie turns 10 on the 9th and we are celebrating with a Movie night at my parents! Of course we have Halloween to look forward to it, even though it will be different this year it will still be fun.  Stay tuned for a day in the life. I really want to record what we are doing these days so we can look back on it all!

A Little Getaway

A few weeks ago we went on a little getaway to New Hampshire. It was such a nice change of scenery. We went from Sunday to Thursday. Wish we could have stayed longer! We left early on Sunday and couldn't check into our cabin until after 4 pm. So we drove through North Conway and up to Mount Washington. We found a river with lots of rocks which was fun to walk through. The water was freezing and the rocks were so slippery. I think we all slipped at one point. Hudson had to change his clothes.

Once we got checked into our cabin we went to the grocery store to stock up on goodies for the week! After we got things put away and had dinner we went for a swim in the lake. We had a golf cart that went with our cabin so it was fun to drive around in that!

The mornings were so peaceful. I was usually up before everyone else so I got to enjoy the sunrise and read my book. I read 28 Summers and it was such a great book.

On Monday we went for a ride through the Kancamagus Highway and ended up driving by Loon Mountain. We stopped there and went on a gondola ride up to the top of the mountain. It was so beautiful up there. We went for a little walk and ended up at these glacier rocks that you could climb through. I was a little hesitant to go through them but we all did a great job! After we went through the rocks we headed back down the mountain and then had our lunch that we had packed!

That afternoon a rain storm came through and we were able to find a rainbow after the storm. It was beautiful and the picture doesn't do it justice!

The next day we spent time at the lake in the morning because the afternoon was suppose to be cloudy and rainy. After some swimming and lunch we headed out for a ride and ended up in North Conway to walk around. It was a bit overwhelming with all of the crowds, so we didn't spend much time there. Of course we had to stop at Zeb's General Store and get some penny candy!
On our last full day in NH we woke up to fall like weather. The temperature was in the 60's and it was so beautiful. We found a walking path that lead to this lake. I just couldn't get over the weather. It was so spectacular.  We ended the night with yummy barbecue and s'mores! Brett did a great job with making fires too!

It was such a fun time away and it was so needed. With all this craziness that is going on in the world it was nice to have a little normalcy. Already looking forward to going back next year and hopefully we can go to Storyland next year.

Harper's First Communion

Harper had her First Communion last month. It was suppose to be in April but with everything that was going on it got rescheduled to August. It ended up being on the same day as me and Brett's wedding anniversary. How has it been 12 years! It is crazy how much time flies. It was a such a nice afternoon. The mass for Harper was at 3:00 pm. I was asked to do the readings for the mass which made me a little nervous, but we all got through it! Afterwards we had pizza from Rustico's and a cake from the Shipyard Bakery at my parent's house. It truly was a special time for Harper and it was fun to see her in the spotlight. As the middle child I feel that Harper doesn't always get the attention she deserves!

Fourth of July Weekend

Just a little bit late posting my 4th of July Weekend recap. Didn't want the month to go by and not do it! I had to go back to my planne...
