A Little Getaway

A few weeks ago we went on a little getaway to New Hampshire. It was such a nice change of scenery. We went from Sunday to Thursday. Wish we could have stayed longer! We left early on Sunday and couldn't check into our cabin until after 4 pm. So we drove through North Conway and up to Mount Washington. We found a river with lots of rocks which was fun to walk through. The water was freezing and the rocks were so slippery. I think we all slipped at one point. Hudson had to change his clothes.

Once we got checked into our cabin we went to the grocery store to stock up on goodies for the week! After we got things put away and had dinner we went for a swim in the lake. We had a golf cart that went with our cabin so it was fun to drive around in that!

The mornings were so peaceful. I was usually up before everyone else so I got to enjoy the sunrise and read my book. I read 28 Summers and it was such a great book.

On Monday we went for a ride through the Kancamagus Highway and ended up driving by Loon Mountain. We stopped there and went on a gondola ride up to the top of the mountain. It was so beautiful up there. We went for a little walk and ended up at these glacier rocks that you could climb through. I was a little hesitant to go through them but we all did a great job! After we went through the rocks we headed back down the mountain and then had our lunch that we had packed!

That afternoon a rain storm came through and we were able to find a rainbow after the storm. It was beautiful and the picture doesn't do it justice!

The next day we spent time at the lake in the morning because the afternoon was suppose to be cloudy and rainy. After some swimming and lunch we headed out for a ride and ended up in North Conway to walk around. It was a bit overwhelming with all of the crowds, so we didn't spend much time there. Of course we had to stop at Zeb's General Store and get some penny candy!
On our last full day in NH we woke up to fall like weather. The temperature was in the 60's and it was so beautiful. We found a walking path that lead to this lake. I just couldn't get over the weather. It was so spectacular.  We ended the night with yummy barbecue and s'mores! Brett did a great job with making fires too!

It was such a fun time away and it was so needed. With all this craziness that is going on in the world it was nice to have a little normalcy. Already looking forward to going back next year and hopefully we can go to Storyland next year.

Harper's First Communion

Harper had her First Communion last month. It was suppose to be in April but with everything that was going on it got rescheduled to August. It ended up being on the same day as me and Brett's wedding anniversary. How has it been 12 years! It is crazy how much time flies. It was a such a nice afternoon. The mass for Harper was at 3:00 pm. I was asked to do the readings for the mass which made me a little nervous, but we all got through it! Afterwards we had pizza from Rustico's and a cake from the Shipyard Bakery at my parent's house. It truly was a special time for Harper and it was fun to see her in the spotlight. As the middle child I feel that Harper doesn't always get the attention she deserves!

Fourth of July Weekend

Just a little bit late posting my 4th of July Weekend recap. Didn't want the month to go by and not do it! I had to go back to my planne...
