What a Bust of a Storm

Happy Tuesday! The kiddos only have one more week left of summer. We have a busy couple of nights coming up. Harper is touring her new school today where Mollie already goes. Wednesday night is Uncle John's birthday, and Thursday is the Soccer Meet and Greet for the fall season! It is just getting us prepared to be back to school next week!

I have been off the last couple of days to spend time with the kiddos before school starts. We had a great weekend! We were suppose to get a Hurricane that turned into a Tropical Storm and then it just fizzled out by the time it got to us. It was ok that it did fizzle out, at least we were prepared. Bought all the food, made sure we had flashlights and candles, and then made sure all the electronics were charged if we did lose power. We did end up losing power for a couple of hours but it was during the day so it wasn't that bad. Other than the storm being a bust on Sunday the rest of the weekend was nice!

Lets start with what we did on Thursday. We did a target, hobby lobby, and chick fil a run!! Mollie had soccer practice Thursday night and while she was at that Harper, Hudson and I went to the grocery store to get prepared for the storm on Sunday. Friday morning was spent preparing the outside for the storm and then we went to Silvershell beach in Marion in the afternoon with my mom and my godmother. Harper went to her friend's house. Friday night was made for a charcuterie board for dinner, followed with ice cream, checking out the harbor watching all the boats coming out of the water in preparation for the Storm. What a lot of work for a storm that didn't happen! We ended the night with a movie night and watched the new Paw Patrol Movie. Everyone loved it!

Of course we needed a few things for Fall from Hobby Lobby!

The most addicting candy for movie night

Saturday was spent picking up around the house and then we went to the beach till around 8 pm. We didn't want the day to end and high tide was around 8 so the kids wanted to stay to swim at night! We grabbed pizza and enjoyed dinner down at the beach. It was such a fun time with the kiddos! We swam up the river a few times and have some cuts from the oyster shells to remember the time!

I woke up on Sunday ready to weather the storm, but first I had to go get more cream for my coffee!!! Hudson and I headed to the grocery store and it was pretty quite. Afterwards we all went for a ride to check out the waves and see what the storm was doing, but it was doing a bunch of nothing! I'm so grateful that the storm didn't happen because it could have been really bad!! The rest of the day was spent hanging out, we lost power for a bit and I took a nap! Had a nice family dinner and we were all in bed by 9.

Yesterday, was spent being a bit lazy in the morning. I did get to wash the bed sheets and pick up around the house. After lunch we went for a bike ride and stopped by Nonni's. The rest of the day we all just hung around.

Today is a busy day. I have to do a few things for work this morning and then we are going to get haircuts and Harper's school tour is this afternoon. Maybe we can take an afternoon nap before that! I didn't sleep well last night! Ok got to go and get the play dough for Hudson! Have a great day!

Sprinkled with Love!

Sprinkled with Love!

We are so excited that we are adding a new cousin to the crew!! Baby Eloise is due to arrive in September. My mom and I threw a Baby Sprinkle for Carly this past month to celebrate Baby Eloise. We had planned for a luncheon, but of course it was one of the hottest days of the summer. It was such a nice time with family and friends.

We had sandwiches from The Shipyard Bakery along with a few different salads to go with it!

We had set up the tables to be a big table so that we could all be together and enjoy everyone's company. The table set up was perfect!! Love the flowers from my mom's garden.

After we had lunch my sister opened the gifts. Baby Eloise was so spoiled! It also amazes me how much baby products have changed in just about four to five years!! We ended the afternoon with cupcakes which I didn't get a picture of! I need to be better at taking more pictures. My mom made candles as the favor for each guest! They were so cute and smelled wonderful! I will leave you with the kiddos at the Sprinkle sitting at the kids table! Hudson went off with my dad since it was only girls! xoxo, Erika

Our Trip to Maine

Summer vacations are always the best. I love the time spent with just the five of us with no distractions! Don't get me wrong it is not always perfect, but it's our perfect. This summer we went to Maine. My godfather and his family have a house up in Maine that we stayed at. It was right near a lake and it was in a cute town. We went up on a Wednesday night. We were suppose to leave early Thursday morning, but was already to go which never happens so we decided to leave early. The drive was about five hours but it went by fast! It was nice to wake up and already be on vacation the next day. On Day One we woke up to no groceries so we had to go out but we first grabbed breakfast at a general store. Egg sandwiches for Brett and I and the kiddos had muffins. The rest of the first day we spent walking in the town and eating dinner out followed up with ice cream. The next day we hiked up a waterfall and then went for a drive to see what was around! We enjoyed a dinner at home followed with a fire and of course had to make smores! The rest of the weekend was spent swimming in the lake, having dinner out, bowling, finding playgrounds and we even took naps! Hudson fell asleep on me one afternoon and I realized he isn't a baby anymore!! It was a great weekend away with my people. Looking forward to next summers adventure already. xoxo, Erika
